About the Lessons
Every child begins by learning breath control and opening their eyes under water! From that we move on to underwater swims and rolling over to an independent backfloat. After resting and gaining new air, they learn to flip-over to a swim position to get back to the wall or mommy’s hands! Most importantly, they learn about water safety and are empowered with knowledge of real life-saving aquatic survival skills. As our students progress, they learn to fall in the water and find their backfloat on their own! The knowledge and experience our students gain allow them to confidently enjoy the water and to be safe!
Lessons are private, 1 on 1, for
10 minutes a day. The Water Safety & Survival Program ® is
4 days a week (M-Th) for 6 weeks. Swim Otters Once a Weeker Tweeker Program ® is a followup session, 1 day a week to maintain skills and confidence building. It's ideal for the parent that can't get to the pool regularly. It works! Baby grows with the comfort of knowledge in water!
Swim Otters believes it takes every bit of six weeks to teach a child how to swim and what to know to save themselves from drowning. It is extremely important not to rush a child in learning these skills. Rushing the process will promote fear and insecurity in the child. The personality and disposition of the child are key elements into measuring the speed of their individual progress. Every child is different and deserves an opportunity to learn at their own speed - which promotes strong self esteem and confidence! Once your child has completed the initital 6 week course, it is strongly encouraged to enroll in the Swim Otters' Once a Weeker Tweeker Program
® . It gives the student and the parent an opportunity to practice and maintain their skills.
